Summit University is a private faith university that is located in Offa, Kwara State. The institution is owned by the Ansar-Un-Deen Society of Nigeria.
Prior to the establishment of the university, the institution’s establishment was birthed through the setting up of the higher education committee of the Ansar-Un-Deen Society of Nigeria; this committee will set up the university’s goals and objectives.
After years of planning and meetings by the committee, plans were put in place to set up the university in the year 2004 in Offa, Kwara State, and the following year after a licence was applied for from the National Universities Commission (NUC).
Necessary preparation and the setup of infrastructure and facilities in the university begin to commence, and things begin to progress stage by stage, but the licence to start operation in the university was not successful until 2015, when the university was granted approval by the Federal Executive Council based on the recommendation by the National Universities Commission (NUC) to operate as a private university.
