Delta State University Abraka, popularly known as DELSU by students, is a state-owned university that is located in Abraka, Delta State. It is a multi-campus university whose campuses are located in Abraka and Oleh.
Delta State University, Abraka, has a long history of being a higher learning institution in Nigeria, dating as far back as the colonial period when it served as a government teacher’s training college before it was upgraded to college of education status in 1971, awarding the Nigerian Certificate of Education till 1985.
In 1981 the institution was affiliated with the University of Benin in offering degree courses till 1985, when the institution became a faculty of the then Bendel State University. The creation of more states in Nigeria saw the creation of Edo and Delta States, which resulted in Bendel State University turning into Edo State University.
The creation of Edo State University resulted in Delta State creating its own university in 1991 under the then state governor, Olorogun Felix Ibru, who created Delta State University, which has become an autonomous entity since then.
In 1995 the state government of Delta State University made it a policy to spread the university across the senatorial district of Delta State.

General Admission Requirements
โ Candidates must be at least 16 years old before admission.
โ Candidates must have at least five (5) credit passes in relevant OโLevel subjects.
โ English language and mathematics are compulsory among the required credits.
