Federal University Gashua is a federal government-owned public university that is located in Gashua, Yobe State. Federal University Gashua was established by the federal government to accelerate education across Nigeria, and it is amongst the twelve (12) universities that were established across Nigeria.
Federal University Gashua was established in 2013 by the then former President of Nigeria, President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, who at that time inaugurated the first vice-chancellor of the university, Professor Shehu Abdul Rahman.

Admission Requirement
° Candidates must be at least 16 years old to be eligible for admission.
• Candidates must possess a minimum of five (5) credit passes in SSCE/GCE, including English Language and Mathematics, obtained in not more than two sittings, and at least three (3) of the credit passes must be in subjects relevant to your chosen course.
• The candidate must choose Federal University Gashua (FUGA) as their first-choice institution.
• Candidates must have the correct UTME subject combination for your chosen course.
• Candidates must score at least 150 in the UTME examination.
• Candidates must successfully complete the university’s online Post-UTME screening exercise.
• UTME applicants with a score of 150 and above are eligible to apply.
• Direct Entry (DE) applicants must choose Federal University Gashua as their first-choice institution and possess any of the following: Distinction, Credit, or Merit in NCE; IJMB with at least 6 points; Upper Credit in National Diploma (ND); or Lower Credit or above in Higher National Diploma (HND).
