Rivers State University was established in October 1980 following the upgrade of River State College of Science and Technology in 1972, which at that time was located in Kpolu-Oroworukwo in Port Harcourt, the capital of Rivers State, Nigeria.

Nigeria’s first technological university is Rivers State University. With a population of over 20,000 students and a staff strength of over 1,000, it is one of the most thriving state universities across Nigeria.

Admission Requirement

• Candidates must have chosen Rivers State University (RSU) as their first-choice institution.

• Candidates must possess at least five (5) O-Level credit passes, including the subjects required for their chosen course, in accordance with the university’s entry requirements and the JAMB Brochure.

• Candidates must upload their O’Level result(s) during registration. Applicants awaiting O-Level results may apply but must indicate that they are awaiting outcomes. Admission will not be granted without an approved O-Level result.

• Candidates must register for the Post-UTME screening online through the RSU admission portal and complete biometric verification.

• Candidates must ensure that the personal details used during JAMB registration are correctly entered during the Post-UTME application.

• The screening exercise is computer-based (electronic), so candidates should be familiar with using a computer, mouse, and keyboard.

• Candidates must attend the screening on the date and time stated on their examination slip. Those who miss their scheduled screening will not be considered.

• Candidates must be properly and modestly dressed for the screening exercise.
