Obafemi Awolowo University popularly known as OAU or Great Ife is a public federal University that is located in Ife,Osun state. It is one of the most known Public University in Nigeria in terms of popularity and Infrastructure development.
Obafemi Awolowo University(OAU) was established in 1961 under the Administration of the then Western Governor led by Samuel Ladoke Akintola but academic activities commended the following year which is year 1962.
