Muhammad Kamalud University is a faith-based private university that is located in Kaiama Road, Oloje-Ogidi, Ilorin, Kwara State. The university is owned by the Muslim body, the Ansarul-Islam Society of Nigeria, which was founded in 1943 before Nigeria’s independence.
Muhammad Kamalud University’s establishment can be traced back to 1942 with the Ansarul-Islam Society of Nigeria, as this creation of the Islamic body brought an idea to make sure that the northern region of Nigeria has quality education just like the western region of Nigeria does.
Muhammad Kamalud University’s foundation and establishment procedure began in 1993 when the Federal Government of Nigeria approved the establishment of private universities, which had not been approved before.
In 2005 a council was formed by the Ansarul-Islam Society of Nigeria to establish the university, and the plan continued till 2023, when the university was approved by the National Universities Commission (NUC) to begin as an educational institution.

Admission Requirement
• Candidates who made MKU their institution of first choice in their UTME and have a minimum UTME score of 150.
• Candidates who did not make MKU their first-choice institution but wish to change to MKU should effect a change of institution and/or course on the JAMB portal accordingly.
• Suitably qualified international candidates and inter-university transfer applicants are equally welcomed via the MKU portal.
• Direct Entry (DE) admission is available into the 200 level with a minimum of 4 points in IJMB or JUPEB or a minimum of lower credit in a recognized diploma.
• All applicants are required to change their institution of choice to Muhammad Kamalud-Deen University (MKU) on JAMB CAPS.
NOTE: The university also offers ₦25,000 scholarships to each of the first 50 qualified candidates admitted into any of its programs.
