Edusoko University is a community-based university that is located in Bida, Niger State. It is recognized as the first of its kind in the Nupe Kingdom, as it is the first private university to be established in the Nupe Kingdom.
The idea behind the university was formed by the founder, His Royal Highness Alhaji Dr. Yahaya Abubakar, the Etsy Nupe of the Nupe Kingdom. The university was formed and conceptualized in order to improve education access and development in the community.
The university idea was conceived in 2012, but the takeoff was delayed until 2020, when the committee that will see to the establishment of the university was formed, hence beginning the process to see that the university begins academic activities. The year after, 2021, the university committee was formed, and the university was established.
In 2021, with the establishment of the university and with approval from the National Universities Commission (NUC), the university welcomed its first undergraduate students in the institution, but at this time, the university only operated with partial accreditation until April 2026, when it was granted full accreditation.
