Augustine University is a private university that is located in Epe, Lagos State. Augustine University is the first Catholic university to be established in Lagos State.
Augustine University’s establishment is an institution that has undergone a series of developments starting from the university planning, which was initiated in 2009, and the planning continued until 2015, when the university was licensed by the National Universities Commission (NUC) to operate as a university.
The establishment of the university was synchronized with the licensing of the university by NUC. The institution was also inaugurated the same year that it was licensed, honoring the presence of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode.
Academic activities commenced on November 30, 2015, following the admission of the first 100 level students of the institution, and in 2016 the university commenced its first Matriculation Ceremony.

Admission Requirement
• Prospective candidates seeking admission into Augustine University must not be less than 16 years of age by October of the admission year.
• All admissions into the university shall be through the Joint Admissions and Matriculations Board (JAMB).
• Candidates seeking admission into 100 Level (UTME) must obtain a minimum of five (5) Ordinary Level credit passes at SSCE or its equivalent in relevant subjects, including English and Mathematics (in specified courses), at not more than two sittings.
• Candidates must pass the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) as specified by JAMB in relevant subjects.
• Candidates must satisfy the university requirements in a post-UTME screening exercise for the course of study.
• Candidates seeking admission into 200 Level through Direct Entry must, in addition to the five (5) Ordinary Level credit passes, obtain at least two (2) A’ Level or equivalent full passes in relevant subjects, or possess NCE, or a good first degree in another field, as applicable.
• All candidates seeking admission into the university must meet the SSCE/NECO or equivalent basic requirements.
• All UTME candidates seeking admission must choose Augustine University Ilara as their first-choice institution on the JAMB portal.
• UTME candidates must upload their O’Level result on the JAMB portal for admission consideration.
• All Direct Entry candidates are required to obtain the JAMB Direct Entry (DE) form for the year before admission consideration.
