Micheal & Cecilia Ibru University is located in Ibru Village, Agbarha-Otor, Ughelli North, Delta State. As a name implies, the institution is co-owned by two individuals, Micheal and Cecilia, who are in charge of the Michael and Cecilia Foundation (MCF), which is located in Agbarha-Otor, Delta State.
Michael and Cecilia Ibru have been contributing significantly to the development of the Delta State education system as a whole through the establishment of schools, award of scholarships, donation of educational materials, and provision of land for schools in their hometowns of Agbarha-Otor and Aladja.
Micheal and Cecilia Ibru, moved by their commitment to education, decided to establish a university. They pooled their resources together to establish a university, and on March 5, 2015, their dream was achieved when the federal government approved the institution as a private university and granted them approval.
Established in 2015, the institution commenced academic activities that same year with just two faculties, which are the Faculty of Management and Social Sciences and the Faculty of Natural and Applied Sciences, before the university expanded by including faculties like the Faculty of Computing, the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, and the Faculty of Law into the existing faculties.
