Bridget University is a newly created private university that is located in Ahiazu Mbaise Local Government Area, Imo State. The university is the first of its kind to be located in Mbaise Kingdom.
Bridget University was founded by Reverend Barrister Leo Okonkwo, who is a Christian and upholder of faith; hence, the university’s morals are directed and focused on the faith aspect. The institution is named after the university founder’s wife, Mrs. Bridget Okonkwo.
Bridget University was established in 2025, which can be traced to the year the university was approved by the Federal Executive Council (FEC) through President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other members who are in the council.
The university is approved and accredited by the National Universities Commission (NUC) and currently under the administration of Professor Peter U. Okorie, who happens to be the first vice-chancellor of the university.
