Chrisland University is a privately owned university that is situated in Abeokuta, Ogun State. Chrisland University was a university that was born out of an idea by its founder, High Chief Dr. Mrs. Winifred Awosika.
Chrisland University started as a primary school with only seven students at that time, with the founder’s kitchen serving as the classroom. Years later, the institution expanded to accommodate more pupils, so the founder had to find a new building to accommodate more students, and this growth continued. Ten years after the primary school was established, the secondary school arm of the institution was birthed.
Ten years after the secondary school was established, the institution established its predegree college again, and by 1977, the education institution had grown to become the largest privately owned education institution in Nigeria as a whole.
With the success achieved at the establishment of the other arm of the institution, the founder set in motion the plan to establish the university ten years after the pre-degree college, but this plan did not come into motion due to obstacles, but in September 17, 2015, the university was granted a partial license to operate as a university.
In 2019 Chrisland University was granted a full license by the National Universities Commission (NUC) and also by the Federal Government of Nigeria, and in subsequent years that followed, the university enjoyed massive accreditation from NUC and professional bodies.
