Yaba College of Technology, commonly and popularly known as YABATECH, is a well-known polytechnic that is located in Yaba, Lagos State. It is regarded as the best polytechnic in Nigeria and also the first higher learning institution that was established in Nigeria. The institution was established in 1947.
Yaba College of Technology history began as Yaba Higher College before it transitioned to become Yaba Technical Institute. When the institution was established in 1947, it was integrated into the University of Ibadan as its university college until 1969, when it was granted autonomy to operate as an institution that can operate on its own.
No doubt it is the best polytechnic in Nigeria; it is the first institution in Nigeria that established a center for entrepreneurship development, and the courses that are offered in this center are compulsory to be taken as a course during their duration of study.
It is a good opportunity to study at YABATECH, providing access to quality facilities and infrastructure coupled with the access to view some of the polytechnic’s old structures, which serve as monuments and are still used by students today.
When the institution carries “college” in its name, it operates as a polytechnic and offers ND and HND courses and also awards both ND and HND certificates.
If you are looking to study at Yaba College of Technology, then you must be familiar with the courses that are offered in the institution, and that is what we will be outlining in the article, and also the admission requirements and the cut-off mark will be included for proper clarification.
